Artist’s Statement
Consider the typical artistic process, where artists go to an art store and purchase a canvas and paints to create artwork. They take it home and put acrylic, watercolor or oil paint onto it without much thought about what is in our paint, such as plastic, toxic materials, and harmful solvents that often get washed into our water systems, further harming ourselves and the environment.
Now imagine an artistic process where the artwork is natural, hand made, and plastic free. These paintings are created with natural earth pigments and consists of non-toxic, archival pigment that was hand mixed with oil in the tradition of the old masters of the Renaissance. It was sealed with natural varnish for protection. Art that is from the Earth and for the Earth.
It is my hope that my art brings you joy and a deep sense of gratitude for this magnificent planet. Thank you.
